Examples Of Proprietary Software.


Since the Proprieatary Software can be defined as a type of computer software that the producer creates a set of restrictions on use. These producers of the Proprieatary Software may enforce restrictions by legal means, such as copyright, or by technical means by restricting the source code access. There are quite a few Examples of Proprieatary Software but the main ones are shown below:

Examples:

  • iTunes - a digital media player application, introduced by Apple.

  • Microsoft Windows - is a series of software operratiing systems and graphical user interfaces which is produced by Microsoft itself.

  • Max OS X - is a line of computer operating systems developed, marketed, and sold by Apple.

  • RealPlayer - that plays a number of multimedia formats including MP3.
